Walter G. Bidwell

Walter G. Bidwell, 90, of Janesville died at his home on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. He was born in Fulton, Rock County, WI on July 11, 1925, the son of Walter F. and Ella Murwin Bidwell. He graduated from Janesville High School and served in the 8th Division of the U. S. Army Air Force/Corps 306th Bomb Group as a B 17 tail gunner in Germany during World War II. He was employed in the office at General Motors for 35 years retiring in 1987. Walter was active with the WarBirds. He married Marion I. Chambers on July 25, 1960. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2002.
Walter Bidwell is survived by his daughter, Susan (Joseph) Kruckenberg of Edgerton, two granddaughters, Alicia and Jenna Kruckenberg, a step-grandchild, Wendy Williams, his sister-in-law, Faye Bidwell and two nieces. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Theodore “Ted” Bidwell and James Bidwell as well as two step-children, Richard Foust and Merylyn Williams.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville. Rev. Lawrence MacKenzie of the Fulton Church will officiate. Graveside services with military rites will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, WI. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at Henke- Clarson Funeral Home.
